dental implants:the new phenomenon

i’m a dental student i’m doing my 3rd year in dentistry the dental implants fall under prosthodontics this deals with replacement of lost or damaged teeth with a prosthetic teeth.in these days aesthetic appeal of a person is very important in the society today and one of the way that can make an impression is a smile of a person so i think it is very important for a person to have a decent smile and you cant have a smile with broken or missing anterior teeth especially the teeth of maxillary i.e upper jaw’s front teeth.some people tend to loose the teeth naturally or break them in an accident which results in the loss of the teeth or deformation of the teeth.this will result in an odd smile so it is advisable that you contact an prosthodontist there are so many ways to replace that teeth if a tooth is missing that particular single tooth can be replaced by a prosthetic which can be fixed or removable according to the wish of the user if it is fixed it is called fixed partial denture(f.p.d).if it is removable it is called removable partial denture(r.p.d).the cost of these prostheses can be variable.if the prostheses is made up of acrylic resin it is cheaper and if porcelain veneers are used it will cost you more if you want a permanent and strong teeth then the answer lies with dental implants, these are made up of titanium which are bolted into your jaw via drilling and on the occlusal surface a tooth is screwed as it requires high level of skill it is costly but is highly recommended if you have the money these are the new advances in cosmetic dentistry and it is true that it will cost you way less if you get it done by student in training but if you are going for dental implants it is better if you go to experienced dentist.
